Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche


Irinox is a Supporting Member of the Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche, founded and promoted in 2004 by the Slow Food international association with the collaboration of the regions of Piedmont and Emilia Romagna, it is a non-state university legally recognized by the Italian state.

The aim is to create an international training and research center, at the service of those who work for a renewed agriculture, for the maintenance of biodiversity, for an organic relationship between gastronomy and agricultural sciences.

A new professional figure is born, the gastronomist, able to operate in the production, distribution, promotion and communication of quality agro-food: the University dismisses in fact the future communication experts, disseminators and multimedia editors in the food and wine field, involved in product marketing excellence, managers of protection consortia or companies in the agri-food sector or tourism agencies. Students from all over the world acquire an active and dynamic education, thanks to the complementarity between humanistic education and scientific training, the strong trainingsensoriale, the direct experience (through educational trips in the five continents) of the craft and industrial processes of production and processing of food.

To date, more than 1000 students have attended and are attending the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo.
